Megyn Kelly hit out at Madonna’s appearance at the 2026 Video Music Awards, saying the music icon was “necessary”.
The “Confessions II” singer came out on top Sunday night at the awards ceremony with seven awards, including Artist of the Year and Best Collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter for their song “Bring Your Love.”
Madonna’s opening act at the show featured dancers who appeared to have lasers coming out of their crotch area. Kelly attacked the singer, calling him unnecessarily vicious.
“It’s a real exercise that they’re simulating if I’m honest because I don’t think most people have sex like that,” she said, referring to the real-time video on Monday’s episode of “The Megyn Kelly Show. I don’t know if these are simulated blow jobs or what.”
Kelly also said the singer started “bombing” while accepting an award later that night. Madonna pretended to pull the laser out of her butt and let it go.
“Again, the class picture. Um, sad, but that’s what she thinks is fun,” she said.
In another part of the show, Madonna asked the production team to pick up their mic, so she didn’t have to obey him, joking that she had “been bowing down to people for too long.”
“What is it? Who? You’re Madonna,” Kelly said. “Who did you bow down to? Give me a break. Stop trying to be the victim.”
“Could you try to find a more powerful statement for the age of 68, please? I’m begging you,” she said. “She shakes the despair.”
The former Fox News host later mocked Madonna for not even trying to lip-sync during her performance, saying she cheated the audience. She also pointed out what appeared to be padding in her bloomers.
Kelly said Madonna used to be in good shape, but now at 68, she’s lost some of the muscle definition she once had. The host said that the seaweed looked unnatural.
“It doesn’t look good. She just wants us to talk about her, which I agree with,” she said. “But again, how is this hot, attractive, sexy? All I need are telegraphs.”
