Melyssa Ford shares 7 reasons for being single
Melyssa Ford has the internet on fire after she shared a video listing her seven reasons for being single. Ford shared the clip on Instagram on Friday, and explained why she’s still single as she turns 50.
The text above the clip reads: “Seven Reasons Why I’m Single.”
“Day 28 of 50 days to 50,” she wrote. “I’ve been single for a long time. If a relationship didn’t last a year, it doesn’t really count for me. I’m very comfortable being single, my life is full and very meaningful but I get asked a lot about it. single! #50daysto50 #fyp #rising gracefully #day28of50.”
Ford listed her reasons in the clip, and asked her fans if they could relate.
“I do think I’ve narrowed down seven reasons why I’m single,” she said, “So, let me know if you see yourself on one of these reasons.”
Ford explained that chemistry is number one. “The hot and cold behavior that I was once incredibly motivated by is like an af*cking circus of red flags.”
For number two, Ford recorded a small conversation with someone who has no depth. “I’d rather stand in front of a firing squad.”
“Three, I run the math on every link,” she continued. “Before I let go anyone close, I ask, is this person worth the risk of the peace I have raised?’ And most of the time, the The answer is that math is not math, so no. “
Ford listed number four as “threat detection.”
“So, after my last visit with heartbreak, every new date feels like a risk assessment, and I look for warning signs instead of feeling butterflies,” she said.Okay, those butterflies can kiss my mother*cking a*s.”
For number five, Ford said, “I am not depreciating. I’d rather spend the evening alone with my puppies than settle for a mindset that doesn’t match mine. I am sapiosexual. I already know what the wrong love costs.”
Number six is Ford independence. “My independence has become my safest relationship, and so being alone there is nothing I can escape from. Of course I like it. So if you can break through that, you’re something.”
Number seven is listed as safety.
“How safe I feel, how someone handles a tough conversation, and whatever what they do matches what they say,” said Ford.This is not sarcasm because I know you motherf*ckers in the comments will say that sh*t. It’s more about a lack of desire to compromise my peace. So, I am wondering, does any of this apply to you? Ford Defended Jasmine Guy in Viral Clip
As reported by The Shade Room, Ford went viral for his defense Jasmine Guy after the reboot premiere of ‘A Different World’. Guy is 64, and after her appearance was criticized, Ford jumped to her defense with a video on Instagram. The post is captioned:
“So the internet gangsters have picked a fight with the Icon @iamjasmineguy because she had the ability to age,” she wrote. “Mmmm k. Some of you don’t deserve the privilege of getting older. Edit: And just to be clear, I’m aware that women have had quite a few different comments. They should be ashamed of themselves. Those are some misogynists out there. Fix your inner misogyny, ladies. It’s not cute.”
In the clip, Ford’s words were even more to the point.
“You internet gangsters get on my f*cking nerves,” she said. “Jasmine Guy is the last woman to be picked apart for her age, and she’s the same bull every time. If a woman gets a job, she lacks self-love. She’s insecure, she’s chasing her youth. If she doesn’t, she lets herself go, or is praised for letting her face do what faces have to do!”
