Carole Radziwill answered Thanks Jesselquestions about her late cousin, Carolyn Bessettewhile it appears on it Jeff Lewis‘ Monday radio show.
While criticizing Jessel’s comments about Carolyn, which included a suggestion that the Kennedy family was cursed, as “inappropriate” and “intentional,” the 63-year-old said. Real Housewives of New York City star admitted filming season 16 was “traumatic” and made her cry every day.
“Jess wasn’t asking questions. She was just like, telling me that she got this experience at some magazine, and she was talking about the beauty of Carolyn Bessette and ‘What do you think of Summer Carolyn Bessette?’ There were no questions but ‘Was she ab*tch?’ I was like, ‘What the f*ck?’ Like really. So that was my start,” Carole recalled on the Sept. 28 episode of SiriusXM Jeff Lewis live.
Although she admitted that Jessel was “probably” just trying to make a connection, Carole said her inquiries felt “very deliberate” at the time.
“It felt like at the time it was intentional, I don’t know, that there was no reason for her to be like, ‘Well, what do you mean? Why don’t you have a Carolyn Bessette Summer?'” Carole noted. “Listen, this is the first time in my entire adult life that I’ve had to field questions, inappropriate questions, about my family.”
Looking back, Carole said she didn’t want to comment too much on Jessel’s questions.
“I didn’t want to give him any energy, and you could see that I was thinking in the show, I was just like, I didn’t want to talk to her about it,” she explained. “And that usually works with people, but also, I knew I didn’t want to get into an argument about Carolyn.”
According to Carole, the moment with Jessel was “very hard” and “painful,” especially since it happened in the middle of a divorce A Love Storywhich was written about the late Carolyn John F. Kennedy Jr.
As SEALS as fans may have seen, Carole went through a challenging time recovering from the heartbreaking loss of her cousins during season 16, and was further devastated when she discovered that one of her unnamed ex-boyfriends had auditioned to play her late husband, Anthony Radziwillin the series.
“The whole six weeks was very, very difficult, really. I don’t think you can see everything. There are scenes where I’m like, crying a lot. I don’t know what’s getting in the show or not, but I’d say the first three weeks of filming, I was probably crying every morning. And then I’d take a shower and, like, I’d put on a smile and I’d be fine,” she said.
