Nicolas Cage clarified a recent comment that he was “a little homeless” after his Malibu beach property was severely damaged by a sinkhole.

The 62-year-old Longlegs star spoke to the Associated Press in an interview published Tuesday (November 4) while attending the A wolf premiere and clarified what he meant.

“I went to Comic-Con, and I was running into a really good interviewer, and all he had to do was ask, because it was Halloween, ‘What are you doing for Halloween?’ Now, when I said that, I meant that my house is not available for cheaters,” he said.

Nicolas he continued, “Now, I have to watch my words to the letter so much. We’re happy. We’re okay. We’re not poor. We’re okay. I just meant that the house isn’t available to decorate and give candy to the kids, which I like to do because I like Halloween.”

What happened to Nicolas Cage’s house?

Before that, Nicolas was at the LA Comic-Con on Halloween and said he’s “a little homeless right now” because his house is dangerous to live in.

Back in September, his $10.5 million home was severely damaged by severe coastal erosion and heavy rains that caused it to sink into the ground, according to Page Six. Photos show that a large hole opened up where his driveway used to be.

“So I’m just staying in hotels so I don’t have any regular tricks or drugs that I’d like to enjoy tonight,” he said at the conference.

The hole took his closed garage, asphalt, and concrete collapsed inside along with a nearby construction port-a-potty and pieces of privacy fence. NicolasNeighbors also had to be evacuated, with seven houses on the street marked as unsafe.

Here’s why Nicolas Cage says he may not work with Amazon again after that Black ox.

But the National Treasury alum didn’t let that ruin his Halloween night. He said he planned to take his daughter with him, August4, trick-or-treating in Santa Monica and watch the horror classic The Clarity that night after putting her to bed.

Page Six also reports that he is working hard to save his house and has filed three permits within days of the incident, including an emergency building permit that allowed him to “pack sandbags against the beach and outside the home for wave protection and to prevent further coastal erosion.”
