Christmas is approaching us in an open one-horse sleigh, which means that new Christmas movies are also coming down the chimney. As always, Netflix certainly has a bag full of originals to offer fans.
Don’t worry, it’s not too much of a watch list this year. There will be four new Christmas movies from the streamer, rolling out over the next month. First released this week, and tugging at the heartstrings of all dog lovers out there (don’t worry, not in a devastating way). The latter will arrive at the beginning of December, taking fans into an interesting time loop story.
Here are the new Netflix original Christmas movies coming in 2026.
Merry Christmas Dog
Listen, it’s okay and even normal to have concerns about this movie, since it comes from the same author of “A Dog’s Purpose” and “A Dog’s Journey,” two books and a movie where the death of a dog is a major part of the story.
So, let’s get this out of the way above – the dog lives in “A Dog’s Perfect Christmas”. This one tells the story of a family in crisis “where a teenager, her grandfather and his trusty dog struggle to keep the household together at Christmas time.”
The film is available to stream now, for early birds hoping to catch the Christmas worm…or, bone? Take your pick.

Tyler Perry the gospel of Christmas
On November 11, you can check out the latest offering from Tyler Perry, with the release of “The Gospel of Christmas with Tyler Perry.”
In this movie, “A struggling pastor takes over his family church in a broken New York neighborhood, but as he battles doubt, temptation and a sinister enemy, he must rediscover his faith and the power of prayer to save his church, his family and his community in time for Christmas.”
The film stars Fantasia Barrino Taylor, Durrell “Tank” Babbs, Ricco Ross, and more.

Protective stars
Fans of the old CW — back when it wasn’t even the CW but the WB — might want to head straight to “Guarding Stars” this holiday season, as it stars network royalty.
The film sees Leighton Meester, of “Gossip Girl” fame, star as a no-nonsense bodyguard assigned to protect a hot action star over the holidays. That attractive young star? Jared Padalecki. As they get to know each other and work together, “sparks fly, secrets are revealed, and Christmas becomes much more complicated.”
It’s Dean from “Gilmore Girls” and Blair from “Gossip Girl,” starring in a Christmas romance adapted from a best-selling book. Do I need to sell you more?
“Guarding Stars” premieres on November 18.

In Holidaze
“In a Holidaze” rounds out this year’s Netflix Christmas offerings with Maddie Ziegler, Graham Phillips, Elias Kacavas, Patton Oswalt, Jackie Sandler and more.
“After making a romantic mistake of epic proportions, a self-directed twenty-something finds herself trapped in a holiday time loop, forced to relive the same Christmas at her family’s cabin until she discovers what really makes her happy,” the synopsis reads.
Yep, good old fashioned time loop movie. These are rarely anything less than fun and comforting, and this one includes love. a triangle that has to be resolved over and over again.
You can watch “In a Holidaze” starting December 2nd.
