Right now on General Hospitalthe PCPD and WSB the two are working on a whodunit case in the death of Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna). That cute little outburst took one of Brennan’s fingers off and brought him back to the Quartermaine mansion like a chew toy. The question is who really killed Jack and why?
At this time, the WSB still clinging to Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros). It was a sad response to Agent William Baines (Alimi Ballard) saying that the dead should free Jack. Detective Joe Fitzpatrick (Jonathan Bennett) is currently targeting Carly Spencer (Laura Wright), but there is a better suspect. Let’s talk about who really killed Jack Brennan and why.
General Hospital spoilers: Carly and Valentin are suspects after Jack Brennan’s death
First, we got to talk about Carly. She hates Jack Brennan for recruiting Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) into the WSBbut not enough to kill him. Detective Joe believes that Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stewart) may have drowned Jack for Carly. Nina just told Baines that Carly might have tricked Valentin into helping her. The viewers know that Carly did not do this.
Later this week, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) makes a pitch to Carly. Maybe he wants to turn on Valentin and testify against him. Maybe he wants her to say that Darbhren did the drowning. However, I don’t see a world where Carly turns on Valentin. Carly is more likely to have wanted to destroy Jack personally and professionally, but not physically.
GH Spoilers: Could Valentin have been alone against Brennan?
However, I must say that there is a chance that Valentin acted alone and may have killed Jack. He and Valentin tried to kill each other more than once. Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke) was almost killed by the WSB in Prague. Valentin was angry that Brennan had pursued him, and that put Charlotte in danger. Valentin also knew that Carly might be aware of Jack being gone for good.
While Carly was with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) dealing with the Metro court security issue, maybe Valentin ran into Jack. It could have been a crime of opportunity.
Willow Tait knew too much of Brennan’s secret
Someone we’ve talked about before as a possible suspect in Sheik’s death, and who I think is still a possibility, is Willow Tait (Katelyn McMillan). Jack Brennan knew about his dirty secrets. That includes her shooting Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and using her WSB drug to keep it locked inside.

We also know that Willow wanted Brennan to use her evidence against Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson). Jack cooperated in exchange for her support WSB internal funding Congress. But he and Willow had been at odds with each other just before Jack died. In fact, it was when Willow had tapped Jack to admit that he had been used WSB resources to help her as she attempted a murder trial.
If Willow ends up suspecting the PCPD or the WSBand they search her devices, they might find that recording of Jack. That’s kind of a smoking gun. Plus the fact that Willow is crazy. Healthy women don’t put two bullets in their husband’s back. She did it to Drew and then drugged him into a stroke.
Yes, Willow is capable of murder. Maybe she and Brennan had argued that night. Willow sent him in the. He walked away and drowned.
Spoilers suggest that Jasper Jacks may have hired a killer
There is another suspect in Jack’s death who is off screen but his name has been dropped quite often. He is also a suspect. That is Joss’ father, Jasper ‘Jax’ Jacks (Ingo Rademacher). He’s supposed to not be sailing, but someone else could have done his dirty work while he had an air alibi, if you think about it.
Obviously, Jerry Jacks (Sebastian Roche) is the worst in the family. Jude Jacks (Wil Traval) seems to have followed in his father’s footsteps. For the most part, Jasper Jacks has been a good man. However, he has a history of some obscure actions. He faked paternity tests to make it look like his child was Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez).
Jax punched a court official during a custody battle with Joss. Jax tried to kidnap Joss during that same period. Once, Jax even helped his wicked brother Jerry escape from the police.
Jax’s most shocking act was a retcon when they said he bought Nelle Benson’s (Chloe Lanier) kidney to save Joss’s life. First, if you remember, it was Jake Webber’s (Hudson West) kidneys. General Hospital rewrote history when they resurrected Jake.
Jax found out from Carly that Joss was in the WSB a couple of weeks before Brennan’s death. Jax could have wanted revenge on the Joss thing and hired an assassin to kill Brennan.
Sidwell could be tying up a loose end
Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) is another murder suspect who occupies most of the screen space. It is impossible to go back to Pentonville soon after they are nearly beaten to death by inmates hired by Drew and Ava Jerome (Maura West). Remember, Sidwell was a partner in crime WSB Chief Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes). We know that Sidwell and Cullum had a good thing going. Jack Brennan was part of the reason everything was destroyed and blown up. Sidwell may have seen Brennan’s killing as a loose end.
Of course, we know about Sidwell’s psychotic murder. He shot Lucas Jones (Van Hansis), who was thankfully in a Kevlar vest. Perhaps Sidwell saw Jack not only as a loose end. He was probably killed at the Metro courtknowing that Carly could be suspected, so that she would hit Lucas like that. We know that Sidwell was very suicidal. Maybe he saw Jack as someone who needed to be dealt with.
Colette’s double-agent revenge could hit Valentin on General Hospital
Another off-screen suspect is Colette Moreau (Mercedes Lopez Renard). We haven’t heard this name in a while. She was the French WSB agent who reported to Jack. Colette was also a double agent working on Cesar Faison’s (Anders Hove) last project. She leaked information to Pascal Leveque (Marc Forget), who then shared it with Sidwell and Cullum.
It was actually Valentin who revealed Colette as a double agent to Brennan. Colette was arrested and sent to The Hague. But criminals escape from prison all the time on soap operas. After all, Jerry Jacks managed to escape from high security A stone wallthe WSB prison So yes, maybe Colette had gotten loose. Watch the full video on YouTube.
Maybe she came back to punish Jack for ruining her double agent status. Colette may even have made it at the Metro court to introduce Valentin. I’m sure Colette could easily find out he’s with Carly, who owned the hotel.
Maybe Colette wanted a two-way, two-birds-one-stone revenge. She punished Jack for shooting and arresting him. Maybe she wanted Valentin to go down for the murder as revenge for taking her out. I think Colette is very suspect, especially as she is a disposable character.
Tristan Roberts and the Autopsy Clue could break the case
Now let’s talk about that new evidence. Software to fall General Hospital says that Dr. Tristan Roberts’ (Dean Geyer) medical expertise and knowledge of being in the right place at the right time are key to the mystery of Jack Brennan’s death. If you remember, Lucas wanted Tristan to look at Jack’s autopsy reports.
I suspect they might find a single star tick on Jack’s body. Tristan may remember that Dr. Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson) did a CDC report for the one second he found on Ava. Or maybe Tristan has some insight into the cause of death from that sleeping pill information or something else in the autopsy.
We’ll see, but it’s not Carly who kills. Neither is Nina, and neither is Joss. However, there are plenty of other suspects in this whodunit. Hopefully we’ll find out in the November sweeps who really killed Jack Brennan and how.
