Nicki Minaj Her dispute over unpaid production costs is facing a new challenge, with the lawyers hired to defend her now seeking permission to drop the case.
It is reported that the disagreement has become so serious that her legal team believes that it is no longer possible to continue with the professional relationship.
Their request has also raised an unusual problem: the company says it has struggled to reach Minaj even as it tried to formally notify her of its decision.
Nicki Minaj’s lawyers cited irreconcilable differences in court
The law firm Kurzman Eisenberg Corbin & Lever asked a judge to withdraw from representing Minaj and her company, Pink Friday Productions, in a lawsuit brought by 24/7 Productions.
According to court documents obtained by TMZThe lawyers cited “irreconcilable differences” regarding the “conduct of the production,” along with an alleged breakdown in communication with the rapper.
The underlying lawsuit accused Minaj and her company of failing to reimburse more than $200,000 in expenses that 24/7 Productions said they incurred while working on her “Pink Friday 2” album.
The company’s attempt to drop the case was complicated by problems notifying Minaj. A process server reportedly visited her $10 million mansion, where a concierge said the rapper was gone, but her husband was home.
The concierge is said to have described the couple as having a “tendency not to answer their phones.”
Minaj’s $103,000 hotel expenses became evidence in court

The controversy that weighed on Nicki Minaj’s legal representation also involved detailed questions about the expenses that 24/7 Productions claimed to have covered on her behalf.
In July 2026, the production company submitted hotel invoices as evidence, including records showing that the rapper had checked into the Langham Hotel in New York under the name “Tori Spaulding”.
As All HipHop According to reports, the seven-night stay, between December 6 and December 13, 2023, included a suite that costs $9,500 per night.
Langham’s total bill came to $103,730.11, including additional rooms for her crew members, private dining, room service and minibar purchases. The charts even listed items such as Pringles, M&M’s and bottled water.
A separate stay at the Four Seasons in Fort Lauderdale would have generated another $25,197.85 in expenses, covering accommodations for Minaj, her security staff and stylist.
24/7 Productions argued that it had paid these costs with the expectation of reimbursement. The hotel records became an important part of his attempt to prove the amount he claimed was still unpaid.
Nicki Minaj rejected claims that her hotel spending was excessive

The release of the hotel invoices prompted a strong response from Minaj’s legal team, who disputed the manner in which 24/7 Productions presented the charges.
In an August 2026 court filing, her lawyers accused the company of using the figures to create an unfair image of the rapper rather than focusing on the contractual disagreement.
According to a report from All HipHopher lawyers described the allegations as “conscious ploys to portray Minaj as a spoiled and entitled rap star receiving an unpaid personal windfall, rather than a top performer using common event hosting built into a corporate budget.”
More importantly, Pink Friday Productions said that the basic costs have already been paid in full.
Minaj’s lawyers also confirmed that the deal was made with her company, not her personally, and argued that she should not be held personally liable for the alleged debt.

Minaj’s team warned that the budget of ‘Pink Friday 2’ was too low

The disagreement over whether the costs were reasonable also drew attention to how much Nicki Minaj’s team planned to spend on the album’s promotional campaign.
Emails filed in the lawsuit allegedly revealed that a member of her team had questioned the $250,000 promotional allowance provided by Republic Records.
In a November 29, 2023, message to 24/7 Productions, the team member wrote, per TMZ“The $250K share from the Republic [Records] it is very low. It will cost her at least twice that.” The email also warned that “hotels and transportation alone will eat up the entire amount.”
The communication outlined other expected costs, including $18,000 for photography and video over six days and $4,200 for tailoring services.
Travel arrangements also raised concerns, particularly the possibility of Minaj’s son accompanying her.
The team member questioned whether the $10,000 travel allowance would be enough, noting that her typical plane trip was more than $2,000 per leg even without her son.
Nicki Minaj’s Jingle Ball earnings entered the controversy $275K

The promotional fee was only part of the financial disagreement, as 24/7 Productions also identified the money associated with Minaj’s December 2023 Jingle Ball appearance.
In March, the company said Pink Friday Productions received about $650,000 for the performances while still waiting to recoup the production costs they had advanced.
According to the original complaint, 24/7 had provided advance planning, on-site management, staffing, audio, lighting, rigging, transportation and other logistical services for the concerts and the launch of Minaj’s “Pink Friday 2” album.
The company said it had advanced more than $275,000 to cover the work, and expected the costs to be reimbursed.
He also claimed that numerous attempts to collect the money over almost two years did not bring much progress, with his representatives again getting the answer, “We will look into this.”
24/7 subsequently sued Minaj and Pink Friday Productions, seeking more than $275,000 in damages for alleged breach of contract and related claims.
